Lisa Meyer DVM | Georgetown Animal Hospital<br />

Lisa Meyer

DVM (Owner)

Dr. Meyer was born and raised in Niles, MI, and moved to the Hudsonville area after graduating from Michigan State University, with a degree in veterinary medicine. After graduating from MSU, Dr. Meyer worked at the Animal Clinic in Grand Rapids, for six years, prior to coming to Georgetown Animal Hospital. She came to GAH in 2006 and eventually purchased the clinic from Dr. Bennett in 2009. (Which we are all very happy about).
Dr. Meyer performs routine/diagnostic exams (with an emphasis on preventive health care) as well as routine and not-so-routine (orthopedic) surgical procedures. She works not only on dogs and cats, but also treats pocket pets, reptiles and birds.
Dr. Meyer currently lives in Hudsonville (though she would rather be in Hawaii). She has three children: Malena (an MSU graduate – GO GREEN!), Brayden, and Ava (soon heading off to college). Dr. Meyer and her family have three dogs, Cayman (the second cutest little staffie EVER!), Ransom and Yoo-Hoo (the nosiest little pug known to man).
When not working, Dr. Meyer loves to spend time with her family and in the summer you will find her outdoors in the warm sunlight (only if it is above 75F), she would prefer it if we never had to go through a winter again.

Dr. Chudy joined Georgetown Animal Hospital in the fall of 2011. He attended Grand Valley State University, where he did his undergraduate work. He then attended Michigan State University, where he obtained his veterinary degree. After MSU, he worked at Cedar Animal Hospital for seven years, at which point we were lucky to sign him on at GAH. At GAH, he performs routine/diagnostic appointments and surgical procedures; he also performs orthopedic surgeries and ultrasounds. He has experience with not only cats and dogs but exotics as well. Dr. Chudy treats birds, pocket pets, and reptiles, as well as the occasional farm animal.
A native of West Michigan, Dr. Chudy currently lives in Wyoming, MI, with his wife, Sarah, and their son Benjamin. They also have three dogs. When Dr. Chudy isn’t working, he enjoys spending time outdoors (in all the seasons), he likes to fly-fish, hunt and play hockey, as well as cook (his wife can’t). He also spends his time outdoors cultivating a garden, growing fruits and vegetables. He also is big into remodeling their home; I think he fancies himself a handyman.

Dr. Stephanie Dorner attended Calvin College for undergraduate school and went on to MSU and graduated with her veterinary degree in 1997. Dr. Dorner comes to us from South Kent Animal Hospital and has been with us since January 2019. Have we mentioned that we are so happy to have her on board here? At GAH, she performs routine diagnostics and exams.
Dr. Dorner is a West Michigan native and lives in Grand Rapids with her husband, David. They have three children, Annabelle, Gabe, and Aaron. Dr. Dorner enjoys downhill skiing and would like to learn cross-country skiing. She and her husband have been working on
their sailing game and would like to one day sail their boat from Saugatuck to Mackinaw Island. She and her husband hope that once they get the kids out of the house, they will have more time to themselves and pick up some more hobbies (not that they are in any kind of rush or anything).
Dr. Dorner has a menagerie of pets on her ‘farm.’ For those of you who are curious, she has chickens, a bearded dragon, two ponies, a rabbit, two parrots, multiple cats, three dogs, and of course, her husband (kidding!). That was an exhausting list! It is a wonder she gets anything else done, having to care for all of those guys and her children. It is said that the cockatoo’s screaming may be causing some marital strife, those of you who have ever had one or know of someone with a cockatoo can surely understand! – (I know it’s not a cockatoo, but they don’t have one in their emoji list.)

Emily Dopson

Technician

What can we tell you about Emily that doesn’t require censoring?
Emily was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI. Emily came to GAH during the height of the COVID pandemic (the good old days), she previously worked at Cascade as a pet care assistant and a veterinary assistant. At GAH, she is a technician, you know your pets are in good hands with her as she treats them like they are one of her own.
Emily has a fun personality with what I would describe as a touch of ADHD, but hey, it makes the days more exciting. Emily goes above and beyond to help out anyone that needs it.
Emily has many hobbies outside of work, many include spending time outdoors with her two dogs. She loves rock and morel hunting (though she does not eat them, the rocks or morels) she also really enjoys camping and hiking. She likes to spend time with her dad, Peter (Go West Ham!!), though I think it’s mainly to mock his accent. They also enjoy throwing an annual Soup Cook Off, which neither has won yet.

Formerly Known as Rachel Hoeve, AKA Teresa. SHE’S BACK!!!
Yes, another duplicate name. In my defense, it makes it easy to remember the staff’s names when you only have to remember half of them. Rachel joined Georgetown Animal Hospital in 2021 shortly after finishing her schooling from Baker and obtaining her Veterinary Technician License.
Rachel is a native of West Michigan, born and raised. Rachel enjoys hiking and brewing with her husband Nick. The girl also has a wicked tolerance for spicy food and likes to venture out and try new cuisines. She lives with her husband, their 1 cat and 2 rescue pups (Poppy and Casper the Friendly Dog – my god-dog).
Rachel and Nick are also having a BABY!! We are all excited for them!
Rachel is the sweetest person you will ever meet. You can even call her the wrong name (Teresa) and she will respond without correcting you.

Lorial was born and raised in Chicago, but don’t worry, she knows Detroit style beats Chicago style every time . She attended Mars Hill University in North Carolina and graduated with a major in zoology with a minor in psychology. Lorial’s hope is to one day work for a zoo, as that is where her true passion lies.
Lorial and her husband (Michael) moved to West Michigan so that he could live out his calling of working for a dispensary and also to be closer to their families. It was at the height of COVID that they moved (it was the “in” thing to do).
Lorial joined GAH in the fall of 2022, she came to us from Cascade, where bestie Emily also came from. At Cascade, she wore many hats, she worked as a kennel attendant, then a veterinary assistant, and then made her way to shift leader assistant. She has been a great addition to the GAH family.
Lorial and her husband have recently purchased a home and live there with their dogs (Buddy Billie and Lizzie Lue, what is with the names?) and their two cats.
Lorial and her husband also just had a Baby!!

She has also brought on two new kittens (not so little any more) named Ducky and Nemo. Malena loves music and photography and is an organizational freak (obviously gets that from her mother, HaHa!).
Amy Pierce | Georgetown Animal Hospital

Amy Pierce

Technician

Amy has been with Georgetown Animal Hospital since 2006. Prior to GAH, she worked at Harbor Humane Society for seven years, gaining tons of animal handling experience. Amy is one of the BEST people in the world, she tried to leave GAH in 2014, but we wouldn’t hear of it. She is now here full time and you can see her 4 days a week.
Amy is originally from West Michigan, though she would prefer to spend her time at Drummond Island. She has three boys, Oliver, Jonas, and Regan, who are each super intelligent and active guys. She also loves running, crocheting, kayaking, and horseback riding (the girl cannot sit still).

Alicia Peless | Georgetown Animal Hospital

Alicia Peless

Technician

Alicia has been with GAH since December 2018 and has been a quick study. She came on board as we were in the midst of moving from our old location to our new facility, and if that move didn’t scare her off, we’ve got a keeper! Alicia is so laid back and makes working with her easy. Nothing really gets this girl in a bad mood which is rare to find in people nowadays.
Alicia’s degree is in Graphic Design from the College for Creative Studies (which she is using to its full potential – sarcasm). Alicia also designs graphic tee shirts in her spare time, so I guess she is using that degree after all!
Alicia is a pescatarian, meaning she is a vegetarian who will also eat fish but no other animal proteins. It does not mean she worships fish. I mention this in the event that someone reading this chooses to bring in snacks for the staff (if any of you reps are reading this), there is one of us that does not eat meat.
Alicia lives in Grand Rapids with her husband Matt, their three dogs, three cats and a lizard named Nora. She and her husband are also hockey fanatics and are always playing in a league.

Sydney (Syd The Kid) came to us from Ottawa Animal Hospital as an animal care attendant and joined GAH in October 2018. She now works as a technician. Sydney is passionate about caring for pets and especially loves dopey dogs; I could see her becoming a dog hoarder someday. Every time a puppy comes through the door, Sydney wants to take off with it.
Sydney has Forge, a rambunctious cat who makes it impossible for her to sleep as he enjoys knocking items to the floor in the middle of the night. She has taken on a number of chickens, since 2020, and pampers her flock, of which Stanley, her bantam, is her favorite.
Sydney, in her spare time, enjoys hunting, hiking, camping and generally being outdoors.
