About Georgetown Animal Hospital
As one of the most established veterinary practices in the Hudsonville, MI, area, we have decades of combined experience and a long list of happy clients. Each one of our team members, from the veterinarians to the receptionists, has a deep passion for pets and easily treats every patient like they are their own. (Sometimes, we need to remind the staff to give the pet back.) We have built a reputation for being trustworthy and honest, and wouldn’t be the awesome office we are without our team! Scroll down to get a fun introduction to everyone in the office.

Lisa Meyer
DVM

Dr. Meyer performs routine/diagnostic exams (with an emphasis on preventive health care) as well as routine and not-so-routine (orthopedic)
surgical procedures. She works not only on dogs and cats, but also treats pocket pets, reptiles and birds.
Dr. Meyer currently lives in Hudsonville (though she would rather live in a warmer climate) with her three children: Malena (heading off to college – MSU – GO GREEN!), Brayden, and Ava. Dr. Meyer and her family have two dogs, Cayman (the second cutest little staffie EVER!) and Ransom.
When not working, Dr. Meyer loves to spend time with her family, especially attending all of her kids’ sporting events. She even occasionally coaches for her kids’ teams. In the summer, Dr. Meyer prefers to be outdoors in the warm sunlight and she would prefer it if winter did not occur.
Jason Chudy
DVM

A native of West Michigan, Dr. Chudy currently lives in Wyoming, MI, with his wife, Sarah, and their son Benjamin. They also have three dogs. When Dr. Chudy isn’t working, he enjoys spending time with his family, fly-fishing, playing soccer and hockey, cooking (his wife can’t), and gardening. He also is big into remodeling their home; I think he fancies himself a handyman.
Stephanie Dorner
DVM
Read More!
Dr. Dorner is a West Michigan native and lives in Grand Rapids with her husband, David, and their three children, Annabelle, Gabe, and Aaron. Dr. Dorner enjoys downhill skiing and would like to learn cross-country skiing, as well as how to sail. She and her husband hope that once they get the kids out of the house, they will have more time to themselves and pick up some more hobbies (not that they are in any kind of rush or anything).
Dr. Dorner has a menagerie of pets on her ‘farm,’ as many as 22! For those of you who are curious, she has five chickens, a bearded dragon, two ponies, a rabbit, two parrots, nine cats, two dogs, and of course, her husband (kidding!). That was an exhausting list! It is a wonder she gets anything else done, having to care for all of those guys and her children. It is said that the cockatoo’s vocalizing may be causing some marital strife, those of you who have ever had one or know of someone with a cockatoo can surely understand.

Emily Dopson
Technician/Receptionist
Read More!
Emily was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI. Emily came to GAH during the height of the COVID pandemic, she previously worked at Cascade as a pet care assistant and a veterinary assistant. At GAH, she is a
technician/receptionist, you know your pets are in good hands with her as she treats them like they are one of her own.
Emily has a fun personality with what I would describe as a touch of ADHD, but hey, it makes the days more exciting. Emily goes above and beyond to help out anyone that needs it.
Emily has many hobbies outside of work, many include spending time with her family. She likes to spend time with her dad (she mocks his accent relentlessly) he is English. Though while he has taught her how to make a Scotch egg, he overcooks them.

and so they get to bounce around a bit. Ironically Alison’s parents still live in the same home that she grew up in.
Alison and her husband have an affinity for cats; she has 4 of them, and when not working, she volunteers for a cat rescue. Along with her cat obsession, Alison has a LOVE of K-Pop concerts. She goes out of her way to follow their tours, especially Stray Kids and Ive.
When not popping or cuddling with cats, Alison and her husband like to run (gross), hike, ski, and kayak/canoe. That sounds exhausting. When she is bored, she will watch her husband fish; I guess that could be entertaining?

SHE”S BACK!!!
Yes, another duplicate name. In my defense, it makes it easy to remember the staff’s names when you only have to remember half of them. 😉 Rachel joined Georgetown Animal Hospital in 2021 shortly after finishing her schooling from Baker and obtaining her Veterinary Technician License.
Rachel is a native of West Michigan, born and raised. Rachel enjoys hiking and brewing with her husband Nick. The girl also has a wicked tolerance for spicy food and likes to venture out and try new cuisines. She lives with her husband, their 1 cat and 2 rescue pups (Poppy and Casper the Friendly Dog – my god-dog).
Rachel is the sweetest person you will ever meet. You can even call her the wrong name (Teresa) and she will respond without correcting you.
Kim Johnson
Receptionist/Technician

Kim has two mini donkeys and a mule that she enjoys riding when the weather permits. She has a love for Australian cattle dogs, as she has three of them. Kim also has a chinchilla and multiple cats. She loves to hike, frequent flea markets, and go antiquing as well as four-wheeling. Kim recently purchased a home and spends all her time not at work upgrading and fixing it up.
Lorial Klug
Technician/Receptionist
Read More!
Lorial was born and raised in Chicago, but don’t worry, she knows Detroit style beats Chicago style every time. She attended Mars Hill University in North Carolina and majored in zoology with a minor in psychology. Lorial’s hope is to one day work for a zoo, as that is where her true passion lies.
Lorial and her husband (Michael) moved to West Michigan so that he could live out his calling of working for a dispensary and also to be closer to their families. It was at the height of COVID that they moved (it was the “in” thing to do).
Lorial joined GAH in the fall of 2022, she came to us from Cascade, where bestie Emily also came from. At Cascade, she wore many hats, she worked as a kennel attendant, then a veterinary assistant, and then made her way to shift leader assistant. She has been a great addition to the GAH family.
Lorial and her husband have recently purchased a home and live there with their dog (Buddy Billie, what is with the name?) and their two cats.

Kelly and her husband have known each other since the second grade (that is a long time), and they have one daughter Glenna. Along with a daughter, they have two cats (Porkchop and Lambchop), two dogs (Alvin “The Golden Boy” and Tia), and a horse named Dani. Kelly has many likes, including; sewing, gardening, horseback riding, and spending time with the family as well as enjoying reruns of a show about nothing. Kelly dislikes veggies… vile weeds. (Fans will know that reference.)
Malena Meyer
Veterinarian In Training

Malena has a pet cat named Cookie that is full of spunk. (She IS a calico, those of you who have ever had a calico cat, GET IT.) Malena loves music and photography and is an organizational freak (obviously gets that from her mother, haha!).
Amy Pierce
Technician

Amy is originally from West Michigan, though she would prefer to spend her time at Drummond Island. She has three boys, Oliver, Jonas, and Regan, who are each super intelligent and active guys. Amy is big into CrossFit, as is her husband, Jason, running, crocheting, kayaking, and horseback riding (the girl cannot sit still).
Amy lives in Holland with her three boys, husband and their two dogs, multiple chickens, a couple of cows, two horses, and a mini horse.
Alicia Peless
Technician
Read More!
Alicia’s degree is in Graphic Design from the College for Creative Studies (which she is using to its full potential – sarcasm). Alicia also designs graphic tee shirts in her spare time, so I guess she is using that degree after all!
Alicia is a pescatarian, meaning she is a vegetarian who will also eat fish but no other animal proteins. It does not mean she worships fish. I mention this in the event that someone reading this chooses to bring in snacks for the staff (if any of you reps are reading this), there is one of us that does not eat meat.
Alicia lives in Grand Rapids with her husband Matt, their four dogs Pooka, Nollie, Zeke, Kilo, and Moose, a cat named Dali, and a lizard named Nora. Until recently, it was just three dogs, but she let one of our reps stick her with a puppy. She and her husband are also hockey fanatics and are always playing in a league.
Sharon Six
Receptionist
Read More!
Sharon joined the staff as a receptionist at Georgetown Animal Hospital in 2012. She and her husband Leo of 45+ years (that’s a long time!) moved here from Niles, where Sharon worked at the Niles Foot Clinic for over 20 years. They moved to Hudsonville to be closer to their daughter (one of whom is Dr. Meyer) and grandchildren. Their son Michael currently resides in Denver, CO.
Sharon enjoys knitting, hanging with the grandkids, and reading in her free time. Sharon and Leo also love going to Holland and Saugatuck, but don’t try getting her on a plane! Sharon and Leo have a rambunctious Shnoodle named Cody.
Brianna Slagh
Technician/Receptionist
Read More!
Brianna and Kyle enjoy traveling and exploring the state together. When they travel, they like to; hunt for mushrooms (not those kinds), kayak, and go fishing (not the card game). When Brianna isn’t working at GAH, she cuts hair on the
side and runs a craft business with a friend. She has developed a somewhat unhealthy fascination with gardening, as well as growing her own vegetables and fruits. Brianna has one cat, two dogs, and a multitude of chickens.
Sydney TerHaar
Technician/Receptionist
Read More!
Sydney just recently left the womb (she is very young). Sydney is passionate about caring for pets and especially loves dopey dogs; I could see her becoming a dog hoarder someday. Every time a puppy comes through the door, Sydney wants to take off with it.
Sydney has taken on two of her own pets since starting with us: Boone, the most handsome American staffie mix, and Forge, a rambunctious cat who makes it impossible for her to sleep at night as he enjoys knocking items to the floor in the middle of the night. She has more recently
become a mom to a flock of the most pampered chickens, of which Stanley, her bantam, is her favorite.
Sydney, in her spare time, enjoys hunting, hiking, camping, and chasing cows
Atilay Tulu
Practice Manager

When not working, Atilay enjoys travel; his favorite destination is the Florida Keys, but he prefers international travel (when he can afford it). He also enjoys home projects, dry-walling, electric work, and laying floors, but not plumbing (never again!). Other activities include biking and cooking (he loves to eat). Atilay lives in Holland with his plethora of pets, two dogs, five cats, and one turtle.
Brianna Vorhees
Receptionist/Technician
Read More!
Brianna has two children – 1 boy and 1 girl. Brianna attended Grand Rapids Community College as well as Central.
Brianna has an affinity for carbs and is a lover of food in general, though she has some weird views on what good food is. For example, spice is a No-No. I’ve been told that ketchup is as spicy as she will go. If you want to stay on her good side, don’t ever suggest pineapple on a pizza or try mixing fruit into any of her food.
Psychology, being one of her interests, has led her to be really interested in enneagrams. Brianna is also into Netflix documentaries, Whiteclaw, bonfires, and taking her poochies to the dog park (she has two of them). Family is her biggest passion, though.
